"After working with Alicia I have a new power + confidence in my emotions. I can’t believe the changes! Now when a negative emotion comes in I know how to acknowledge it without letting it affect my positive mindset in Christ.  It’s made a world of difference."

Managing difficult emotions can feel scary, overwhelming and exhausting.
I get it: I’ve spent most of my life pushing down and running from mine.

I get it: I've spent most of my life pushing down and running from mine.
We all struggle with challenging emotions and many of us push them down or ignore them.

Yet science proves that our emotions (even when we don't face them) affect our decisions, perspectives... and even our view of ourselves, others and God.

For me, years of toxic emotional management resulted in a terrifying medical crisis that nearly took my life. Here's my story...

Yet science proves that our emotions (even when we don't face them) affect our decisions, perspectives... and even our view of ourselves, others and God.

For me, years of toxic emotional management resulted in a terrifying medical crisis that nearly took my life. Here's my story...

From the earliest age I found my worth in accomplishment + perfectionism. My inner “hustler” continued to dominate as I married, had four kids, started homeschooling and built my writing career. I found myself in a hamster-wheel world of 18-hour-work days and 4 hours-of-sleep nights.

I figured I must be OK because I felt fine and seemed to be handling it all… right?

Then July 2017 happened.

From the earliest age I found my worth in accomplishment + perfectionism.  My inner “hustler” continued to dominate as I married, had four kids, started homeschooling and built my writing career.

I was stuck in a hamster-wheel world of 18-hour-work days and 4 hours-of-sleep nights.

I thought I was OK because I was handling it all… right?

Then July 2017 happened.

I had an excruciating headache for about a week, and a trip to the emergency room revealed that I had a vertebral artery dissection: a serious medical condition that often resulted in stroke or death.

I was rushed to a specialized hospital where I was told over and over, “you’re lucky to be alive.”

The doctors couldn’t find a cause for my condition, but in the quiet of the neurological ICU room God gently reminded me of how I’d abused my mind, body and soul for years (and how I'd been running from many difficult emotions).
.

“You know why you’re here,” God said.  “Do I have your attention?"

I spent the next 9 months on my back recovering, which gave me lots of time to hear from God.  He told me that this was my second chance, + that this hustle-and-achieve lifestyle had to stop.

As I learned about neuroscience I saw that if I wanted lasting transformation I had to get to the root of my behavior.

That's when I realized I had a core broken soundtrack inside my head: You are only worthy if you achieve. I knew that if I didn’t replace this false belief with God’s truth then I was doomed to repeat my past behavior.
My thought transformation was hardly an overnight process (and still feels messy some days) but now I choose to...
  • Listen to my feelings (instead of telling them to be quiet),
  • Pay attention to my body’s signals (instead of ignoring them);
  • Use the A.D.D. Method to manage my feelings with God (more on that below!)
I can't believe how much more peaceful and confident I am. Of course I still have stressful moments (don't we all?) but now I know how to handle them.

Now I'm no longer afraid to process what's inside. I have tools to acknowledge what I'm feeling and to lovingly invite God's truth into my emotional ups-and-downs so that I can make wise, Christ-honoring decisions.

And wow, has that changed everything!

I want to help you learn healthy ways to manage emotions too.

I understand how frustrating it is to feel overwhelmed, exhausted, discouraged, alone, disappointed (you name the emotion) but have no clue HOW to process what's inside in a healthy way.

As an ICF-Certified Coach (ACC, CPLC) and certified NeuroCoach™, I’m passionate about helping Christian women like you learn practical, brain-based-and-biblically-accurate tools to confidently manage everyday emotions and overcome toxic patterns like perfectionism, performance, comparison, and people-pleasing!
Let me help you take the first steps toward a healthier life by showing you a simple, 3-step framework (the A.D.D. Method) to manage your emotions based on science and scripture.

A.D.D. (Acknowledge, Discern, Decide) is how I teach clients to partner with God to process difficult feelings in a way that acknowledges emotions while still honoring biblical truth.

You'll learn all about A.D.D. in my book Emotional Confidence, but here's some great news...
