10 Ways To Teach and Connect During Car Time

Do you spend a lot of time driving in the car with your kids?
Yep, me too.
And on days where we're driving a ton, my tendency is to complain and whine about all that we can’t do because we’re driving somewhere.
But lately, I've noticed that car time has become a blessing! Truly! While I still would rather be at home, I'm realizing that car time has several unique teaching opportunities and ways to connect with my kids.
I recently shared 10 Easy Ways to Redeem Car Time on My Joy Filled Life.
There are some great tips here (and #1, #2 and #10 are my favorites)!

Hi Joanne! I totally agree! Last year, my oldest son and I had to go to health-related appointments three days a week that were more than an hour away from us. At first I totally resented the drive… but then realized it was an amazing opportunity to connect one-on-one with my precious son who is about to enter the teen years. What a privilege! It’s all our perspective, right? Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again! 🙂
I always LOVED car time. I have often said to others, you put a kid in a car & start a conversation & it is amazing the connection which is formed. I am so grateful that I now have the opportunity to pick up my 3YO granddaughter from pre-school 2 mornings a week. Amazing the conversations we are already having 🙂 Glad to have stopped here from Grace & Truth.
Thank you, Alayna! No screens in the car on short trips is a great idea. That’s what we practice too. 🙂 Glad to share at Home Matters!
Looks like a great round up of ideas. I’ve started banning any use of screens while in the car unless it’s on long trips in order to encourage the kids to look out the window and have actual conversations while we were are and about.
