  1. Oh my gosh, Edwina! My heart just absolutely breaks hearing this! It’s one thing to lose your beloved, but to have it happen so quickly seems almost too much to bear. I am praying for you that God will shower you with His incredible wisdom, strength and power to be both mom and dad to your son through all of these events. It sounds like you have a good church family to support you through this? My family and I are going through an extremely difficult trial right now too, and I have to say that our church family has been such a blessing to us. I just want you to know that I am praying for you too and asking God to lead you step by step through this excruciatingly difficult time. Thank you for sharing your story with us so that we can pray.

  2. I wanted to thank you so much for this article. My beloved husband and father of my son passed away in February, just 18 days after receiving a diagnosis of cancer! We were told from the get go that we needed to start planning on what we were going to deal with his death, that there wasn’t a thing they could do for him. He didn’t have any time to write our son letters or make videos to watch on those days, like graduation, marriage, or the birth of a child. It was just a complete roller coaster ride for us that we weren’t ready to take. I’m still not ready to raise our son by myself although I know there are members of our church that will do what they can for us. Taking my son to camp outs, be there for his graduations, and even when he gets married, but it’s still not going to be the same for us. He’s still gone. Quickly and without a chance to work through everything without him. I guess all I can ask for at this point is that people keep us in their prayers. I don’t even know if I’ll still be able to continue homeschooling our son, but I’m going to give it as much of a try as I can. Thanks for listening.
